Jersey

This material is produced in a knitted fabric that is elastic both wide-wise and length-wise. In detail, the main types of jersey fabric are:

Cotton jersey:

made from 100% cotton to be light, soft and elastic to the touch, being the ideal fabric for summer T-shirts and blouses;

Lycra jersey:

made of 80% polyester and 20% Lycra, this material is very elastic and usually used for long dresses;

Viscose jersey:

made of 100% viscose, characterised by its elegant drape, being very silky and chosen for the production of dresses, tops and skirts;

Double jersey:

a material produced with mix of fibres such as spandex, polyester or viscose, ultimately being heavier than the other fabrics mentioned thus far yet also more compact, which is why it is used to make cardigans or winter dresses, with weights ranging from 100 to 350 grams per linear metre.
